Hey Team,
Hope you're doing well and have had a great week!
Cross Collar Guard Continues - With Emmanuel
Manny will continue to take you through the cross collar guard this week- refining the foundations from last week and layering in new details, troubleshooting and showing how to recover when things go wrong. This Friday will be his final class covering while I've been away- huge thanks to him for holding it down and sharing so much solid knowledge. We're hoping to have him back in the future.

Mouncif returns - New Classes Imminent
I'm back from Thursday and looking forward to jumping back into things with you all. I'll be on the mats for Friday's class. We are now just 1 week away from our new Monday 18:00 classes starting, and 2 weeks from introducing our later evening sessions. These changes will give everyone more flexibility and mat time - thank you for helping us grow to this point!
E17 BJJ Community Dinner - Friday 25th April
After class this Friday, We're heading out for our first E17 BJJ Community Dinner at Turtle Bay, Walthamstow Central. Whether you've been training for months or just getting started last week, come along, it's a great chance to hang out, grab some food, and get to know each other off the mats. Everyone's welcome!
Tip Of The Week - Stay Calm, Stay Present, And Don't Forget To Breath
When you're new to rolling, its easy to slip into fight-or-flight mode- your heart races, your muscles tense up, and without realising it, you start holding your breath.
The problem?
That panic state burns your energy fast and clouds your decision making.
One of the most powerful habits you can build early on is learning to breathe consciously. Stay aware of your breathing, stay calm in tough positions, and focus on being present rather than reactive. It might sound obvious, but it's one of the most common things forgotten during a roll- and one of the most important to remember!
Have an amazing week and see you all soon,
-Mouncif
